Caramel Filling with condensed milk

Submitted by Anne

This is an unusual use for condensed milk.

You need:-

1 Tin Condensed Milk

Remove the paper label from can and scrape off as much of the remaining glue as possible. Using the edge of a knife makes this easier.
Do NOT puncture or pierce the tin before or during cooking.

Put tin in a pan and cover with water.
Bring to the boil and simmer for 3-4 hours. Remember to keep topping up the water.

When cold, pour contents into an airtight container and store in the fridge.

This makes a deliciously tasty filling for sponge sandwiches, or to spread on top of cakes and buns.

My children used to love it on bread and butter.

Hope you enjoy it.
